Play Synopsis:

Ty is in need of some quick cash so he and his girlfriend, Candy, attempt their first home invasion. Unfortunately, they have picked the wrong house. Hank and Nancy, a retired couple, seem to know more about guns than Ty does. Who is really controlling this madcap evening and who will come out on top?

 

Roles Available:

Nancy: late 50s to 70s, retired ex-military, sings and dances a bit.

Ty: 20s, has had a rough life.

Candy: Ty’s girlfriend, late teens to 20s, ex-stripper, does some sexy dancing.

 We are holding open auditions for the hilarious farce Charley’s Aunt, written by Brandon Thomas, April 23rd & 24th, from 6-7:30 pm, in the main stage of CentreStage Theatre.  Performances for this show are from September 14 – October 13th, (12 shows), on Friday and Saturday nights, with two Sunday matinees (Sept 23 and 30).  This show has excellent opportunities for varying sized roles over a broad age range.  As well as cast, we very much need stage crew to assist our stage manage, so if you are interested in helping out at the theatre but not performing, do please come.  If you are interested in auditioning but are unable to attend these times, please contact Chantal (director) at 902-847-3197.

Play Synopsis: Set in 1892, Jack Chesney loves Kitty Verdun and Charley loves Miss Amy Spettique. They invite the ladies to meet Charley’s wealthy aunt from Brazil, “where the nuts come from.” Cancelling her visit at the last minute, the millionaire aunt sends the boys into cataclysmic confusion. What do they do now? They need a chaperone! The problem is solved by drafting their feckless Oxford undergrad pal into a black satin skirt, bloomers, wig and all!

Jack Chesney: age 22  -  Oxford Undergraduate, in love with Kitty.

Charley Wykeham: age 20 – Oxford Undergraduate, in love with Amy.

Brassat: age 40-50 –  Jack Chesney’s valet

Lord Fancourt Babberley: age 24-25 – Undergraduate pulled unwillingly into Jack and Charley’s scheme.

Kitty Verdun: age 20-23 – Stephen Spettique’s young ward.

Amy Spettique: age 20-23 – Stephen Spettique’s young niece.

Colonel Sir Frances Chesney: age 51 – Father of Jack Chesney.

Stephen  Spettique: age 56-60 – Uncle of Amy, guardian of Kitty and the story’s villain.

Donna Lucia d’ Alvadorez: age 55-60 – Charley’s aunt from Brazil.

Ela Delehay: age 17-20 – Orphaned young woman accompanying Donna Lucia.
