CentreStage holds youth drama camps to instill in the campers a love of drama while allowing them the opportunity to develop confidence in themselves, an appreciation for the value of teamwork, and the importance of empathy. We strive to accomplish this through the teaching of stage craft, character development, voice coaching, stage presence, costume creation and selection, blocking, and, with some camps with a musical component, the rudiments of musical performance and choreography. On Monday campers begin acquiring and/or honing these skills which they will showcase in a final production on Friday for a live audience.

The reality is that the current necessary Public Health Protocols have made this model unworkable. It is with regret that CentreStage is not able to proceed with drama camps this summer. Cynthia, Colleen, Davina, Nancy, Lana, Abi, and Sabrina were so looking forward to the drama camp season but have come to understand and accept that we can’t easily do so under the necessary health protocols of physical distancing and group sizes. We will get though this together! See you on the flip side!

This year, CentreStage Theatre will be holding drama camps for children aged 5 -15 years. Participants will learn stage skills such as use of voice, movement, character development, and technical aspects. Everyone will also have a part in the drama that will be performed at the end of the camp.
